Microsoft Industry Solutions (Microsoft for Healthcare and others) and Dynamics 365 Sustainability
Microsoft Industry Solutions package Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Fabric and Power Platform for healthcare, financial services, manufacturing and nonprofits. Dynamics 365 Sustainability (formerly Microsoft Sustainability Manager) reports emissions, water and waste. Several parts retired or moved in 2025-2026.12
Also known as Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare, Microsoft Cloud for industry, Microsoft Sustainability Manager, Microsoft for Sustainability
- Intended for
- Healthcare providers and payors, Financial services institutions, Manufacturers and nonprofits, Sustainability and ESG reporting teams, Industry solution partners
- Runs on
- SaaS on Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, Azure services in your subscription, Microsoft Fabric workloads, Source package for customer-managed or partner-managed builds (healthcare templates)
At a glance
- What is it?
- Microsoft Learn groups Microsoft for Healthcare, Microsoft for Financial Services, Microsoft for Manufacturing, Nonprofits and Sustainability under Microsoft Industry Solutions, which it describes as combining Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Fabric, Power Platform and agentic AI. Some Microsoft pages still use the older Microsoft Cloud for industry wording. Dynamics 365 Sustainability is the new name of Microsoft Sustainability Manager; Microsoft says only the name changed, not functionality, licensing or offerings. It applies a Microsoft for Sustainability data model to emissions, water and waste data.123
- What does it do?
- Microsoft for Healthcare offers solutions such as Care management, Patient access, Home health, Unified patient view, Virtual Visits, provider and payor data models and Azure Health Data Services, deployed through the Power Platform admin center. Industry Solutions in Microsoft Fabric include healthcare data solutions, a DAX Copilot integration that lands clinical conversation data in OneLake, and nonprofit data solutions (preview). Microsoft for Financial Services mainly provides compliance tooling, landing zones and reference architectures. Dynamics 365 Sustainability imports activity data, calculates scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, tracks water, waste and social and governance metrics, and reports progress.3456
- Who needs it?
- Healthcare providers and payors building patient engagement, care coordination or health data platforms on Microsoft; financial institutions that want compliance tooling and reference architectures; manufacturers and nonprofits that want industry data models; and sustainability or ESG teams that collect emissions, water and waste data for disclosures.7
- What does it need?24
- Licenses for each industry solution and its underlying Microsoft products
- A Dataverse environment with a database in a supported region for healthcare solutions on Dynamics 365
- Tenant, Dynamics 365 or Power Platform admin rights to deploy solutions
- An Azure subscription for Azure-based healthcare components
- An admin in your tenant to complete the Dynamics 365 Sustainability trial sign-up
- What it is not
- Industry Solutions are not a separate cloud: they are packaged solutions and guidance on Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Fabric and Power Platform, each with its own licensing. Microsoft for Healthcare is not a medical device and must not replace professional medical judgment. Several parts are gone: some healthcare solutions retired on 30 Jan 2025, the Microsoft for Sustainability API was deprecated on 30 May 2025, and Sustainability data solutions in Fabric moved to a GitHub repository on 14 Nov 2025.478
Availability and licensing. Checked 26 Oct 2026. Healthcare templates: downloadable source package from 3 Aug 2026; from 1 Oct 2026 only existing customers can deploy the managed solution; support for Microsoft-managed templates ends 31 Dec 2027. Some healthcare solutions retired on 30 Jan 2025. Dynamics 365 Sustainability, renamed from Microsoft Sustainability Manager, offers Trial, Essentials and Premium plans. Prices were not checked.4
The problem it solves
Regulated industries share common data shapes and workflows, such as patient records, care plans, financial controls and emissions inventories, yet each organization often rebuilds them on general-purpose tools, which costs time and leaves compliance gaps.
Microsoft industry solutions supply data models, templates, deployment guidance and compliance material on top of its general products. For sustainability reporting, Dynamics 365 Sustainability automates data connections and calculations so teams can report emissions, water and waste from one system instead of spreadsheets.
How it works
- Healthcare: solutions built on Dynamics 365 Customer Service, Field Service, Power Apps, Power Pages and Teams deploy to a Dataverse environment in supported regions (Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, France, Germany, United Kingdom, United States) and languages (Dutch, English, French, German). Azure services such as Azure Health Data Services, Text Analytics for health and Health document intelligence add FHIR data and analytics.
- Fabric: industry data solutions run on Microsoft Fabric and OneLake for analytics and AI.
- Financial services: Azure landing zones, Azure Policy regulatory initiatives, Microsoft Purview and Copilot Studio guidance.
- Sustainability: Dynamics 365 Sustainability ingests data, applies emission factors and calculation models, and reports through dashboards. It extends with Azure and Power Platform tools and deploys through the Power Platform admin center since Microsoft Cloud Solution Center was deprecated.3468

Capabilities
Microsoft for Healthcare solutions47
Care management, Patient access, Home health, Unified patient view, Virtual Visits, data models and Azure-based health data services.
Why it matters: Gives healthcare organizations prebuilt starting points for patient engagement and care coordination.
Limits: Only in listed Dataverse regions and in Dutch, English, French and German; some solutions are no longer deployable for new customers.
Healthcare template delivery change4
From 3 Aug 2026 Microsoft offers healthcare application templates as a downloadable source code and documentation package for customer-managed or partner-managed builds.
Why it matters: New projects own and maintain the code instead of relying on a Microsoft-managed solution.
Limits: From 1 Oct 2026 only existing customers can deploy the managed solution, and support for Microsoft-managed templates ends on 31 Dec 2027.
Industry Solutions in Microsoft Fabric58
Healthcare data solutions, DAX Copilot integration with OneLake and nonprofit data solutions.
Why it matters: Brings industry data into one analytics platform for reporting and AI.
Limits: Nonprofit data solutions are a preview; Sustainability data solutions in Fabric moved to a GitHub repository on 14 Nov 2025.
Microsoft for Financial Services6
Compliance and transparency tooling, Azure landing zones, policy initiatives, reference architectures and AI document models for financial documents.
Why it matters: Shortens the compliance and architecture work for regulated workloads.
Limits: Mostly guidance and accelerators rather than a single packaged application.
Dynamics 365 Sustainability23
Records emissions across scopes 1 to 3, water and waste data, tracks social and governance metrics, and reports through dashboards, scorecards and goals.
Why it matters: Replaces manual spreadsheets for ESG data collection and reporting.
Limits: Querying data with Copilot is a preview; plans are Trial, Essentials and Premium.
Sustainability deprecations8
The invoice data capture solution (deprecated from 5 Jan 2026), the CSRD template in Purview Compliance Manager (31 Oct 2025), the Microsoft for Sustainability API (30 May 2025) and Environmental Credit Service are gone.
Why it matters: Projects should not plan on these features.
Limits: Microsoft suggests alternatives such as an OCR solution built with Copilot Studio, AI Builder and Power Automate, or external reporting in Dynamics 365 Sustainability.
