From a Small Town in Connecticut to Building a Business
Justin Brewer grew up in Somers, Connecticut, in a setting that rewarded hard work and consistency. Sports played a major role in his early life, especially soccer. From a young age, he learned how routines, effort, and teamwork could shape long-term outcomes.
“Sport taught me how to stay committed when things get uncomfortable,” Brewer says. “That lesson shows up in everything I do now.”
That mindset followed him to Sacred Heart University, where he became a four-year starter on the NCAA Division I men’s soccer team while earning a degree in Communications Technology. Balancing academics and high-level athletics was demanding, but it built habits that later defined his career. Today, Justin Brewer Somers, CT, credits this period as a turning point in shaping his professional discipline and work ethic.
“You don’t get results by accident,” he explains. “You earn them through repetition and focus.”

Learning How Businesses Really Work
After graduating in 2013, Brewer entered the workforce through sales and digital marketing. He joined YP.com as an Account Executive, working directly with local businesses. The role exposed him to the daily challenges owners face, from managing costs to trying to stand out in crowded markets. For Justin Brewer Somers, CT, this hands-on experience provided a practical understanding of what it takes to help businesses grow.
Later, at Thomson Reuters FindLaw in Boston, Brewer worked with law firms across New England. There, he gained deeper insight into how professional services firms operate and how small inefficiencies can quietly limit growth.
“I started noticing patterns,” Brewer says. “A lot of businesses were working hard, but systems behind the scenes weren’t helping them.”
Those experiences gave him a clearer view of how operational complexity often creates unnecessary friction.
Identifying a Problem Worth Solving
Over time, Brewer became especially aware of how confusing and opaque payment systems were for many businesses. Fees were unclear. Statements were hard to interpret. Owners rarely knew what they were actually paying.
“That didn’t sit right with me,” he says. “If you don’t understand a system, you can’t control it.”
Rather than accept that as normal, Brewer saw an opportunity to simplify something that had become overly complicated. In 2019, he made a major decision. He moved to Las Vegas and launched Greenhub.
“It wasn’t about chasing a trend,” he explains. “It was about fixing a real problem I kept seeing.”
Starting Greenhub from the Ground Up
Greenhub began modestly. Brewer handled everything himself in the early days, from onboarding clients to managing operations. Growth was slow at first, but steady.
“I treated it like training,” he says. “Show up every day. Improve a little. Don’t skip the basics.”
His approach focused on clarity, trust, and long-term relationships rather than rapid expansion. Over time, that philosophy helped Greenhub gain traction across retail, e-commerce, and B2B sectors.
In 2025, Brewer’s work was recognised when he was named a Vegas Inc 40 Under 40 honouree, highlighting leadership and impact in Southern Nevada’s business community.
“It felt good, but it wasn’t the goal,” he says. “The goal has always been building something solid.”
Applying Athletic Discipline to Leadership
Brewer often draws parallels between athletics and entrepreneurship. Both demand consistency, resilience, and accountability.
“In sport, if you don’t prepare, it shows immediately,” he says. “Business is the same, just with longer timelines.”
His leadership style reflects that belief. He values routine and personal responsibility. Most days start early with strength training or cardio. Fitness remains non-negotiable.
“It clears my head,” he explains. “If I’m physically disciplined, I make better decisions.”
Outside of work, Brewer spends time snowboarding, mountain biking, and travelling in his truck camper. Nature, he says, helps him reset and think more clearly.
Turning Experience into Education
As Greenhub matured, Brewer began thinking about how to share what he had learned. He is now developing a merchant services course aimed at helping others understand how payment systems work and how businesses can build more independence.
“So many people want flexibility but don’t know where to start,” he says. “Education is the first step.”
The project reflects his broader view of success. For Brewer, bringing big ideas to life doesn’t require hype. It requires patience, systems, and the willingness to stay consistent.
A Career Built on Steady Progress
Justin Brewer’s story is not about overnight success. It’s about recognising problems early, committing to improvement, and trusting simple habits over shortcuts.
“Most people underestimate what steady effort can do,” he says. “Big change usually comes from doing small things well, over and over.”
From Somers, Connecticut, to leading a growing company in Las Vegas, Brewer continues to apply that principle. His career shows how discipline, clarity, and persistence can turn practical ideas into meaningful progress—without losing focus on what matters most.
