NVIDIA Inception

NVIDIA Inception is a free program for AI startups. Members get training, developer tools, preferred pricing on select NVIDIA hardware and software, partner offers, cloud credits, investor exposure based on eligibility, and marketing support. It charges no fees, takes no equity and has no deadlines or cohorts.1

Also known as NVIDIA Inception program, Inception Capital Connect, NVIDIA Inception VC Alliance

At a glance

What is it?
Inception is NVIDIA's membership program for startups. It is not a product or a fund: it is a set of benefits and contacts that NVIDIA offers to qualifying young companies, managed through an online portal. NVIDIA says it guides startups through its platform and ecosystem from prototype to production. Companies that are not startups, such as software vendors and service providers, are pointed to a separate program called NVIDIA Connect.1
What does it do?
Members can take free self-paced technical courses and get discounts on instructor-led workshops, use NVIDIA SDKs and model libraries, request preferred pricing on select NVIDIA hardware and software, access partner offers and cloud credits, and receive personalized recommendations in the portal. Eligible members can be introduced to investors through Inception Capital Connect and join networking events. Marketing support includes an official badge, co-branded social content and event assets, with more go-to-market opportunities as engagement with NVIDIA grows.1
Who needs it?
Incorporated startups under 10 years old, with at least one developer and a working website; NVIDIA aims the program at AI startups. Startups that do not yet use NVIDIA GPUs or SDKs can still apply, and revenue is not required.1
What does it need?1
  • The company is officially incorporated (the incorporation date is requested)
  • The company is less than 10 years old
  • At least one developer is employed
  • A working company website
  • Not a consulting or outsourced development firm, crypto-related company, cloud service provider, reseller, distributor or public company
  • Business and product details, funding status and a pitch deck for the application
What it is not
Inception does not guarantee acceptance; NVIDIA reviews each application. It does not guarantee GPUs: NVIDIA states it cannot promise access to specific products and can only share supplier contacts. NVIDIA does not sell directly to members, and preferred pricing is a rebate on select products only, subject to change. Investor introductions depend on eligibility, and the program page does not promise any specific amount of cloud credits. It is not an accelerator with cohorts or investment, and consultancies, outsourced development firms, crypto companies, cloud providers, resellers and public companies do not qualify.1

Availability and licensing. NVIDIA states Inception is free, with no application fees, membership fees or equity requirements, and that applications are accepted at any funding stage with no deadlines or cohorts. Revenue is not required. Members must keep product and company details updated to remain eligible for benefits.1

The problem it solves

Young AI companies often need technical training, affordable access to hardware and cloud capacity, and introductions to investors and customers, all at once and with little budget. Finding the right NVIDIA tools for a workload can also take time.

Inception bundles training, tool recommendations, pricing benefits, partner offers and investor and marketing exposure into one free membership, managed through a portal.

How it works

  1. Check eligibility. The company must be incorporated, less than 10 years old, employ at least one developer and run a working website, and must not fall in an excluded category.
  2. Apply. Submit details about the business and products, the incorporation date, funding status and a pitch deck. There are no fees, deadlines or cohorts.
  3. Review. NVIDIA reviews the application and contacts the company. No review time is published.
  4. Use the portal. Members manage users, request benefits such as preferred pricing, cloud credits and training, and receive recommendations.
  5. Stay current. Members keep product and company details updated to remain eligible; engagement can open further go-to-market opportunities.1

Capabilities

  • Training and guidance1

Free self-paced NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute courses, discounted instructor-led workshops, developer forum access and a monthly newsletter.

Why it matters: Builds the team's skills on NVIDIA tools at low cost.

Limits: Instructor-led workshops are discounted, not free.

  • Developer tools and partner offers1

Access to SDKs, model libraries and developer platforms, plus partner offers on tools, services and support.

Limits: NVIDIA describes the partner offers only in general terms; check the current terms of each offer in the member portal.

  • Preferred pricing1

Preferred pricing on a subset of NVIDIA hardware and software, applied as a rebate deducted from the supplier's standard price.

Why it matters: Can lower hardware and software costs.

Limits: Only select products, subject to change; NVIDIA does not sell directly to members or control supplier prices.

  • Cloud credits1

Free cloud credits from NVIDIA and partners, requested through the portal.

Why it matters: Supports prototyping and early deployment without upfront hardware.

Limits: Amounts are not published on the program page.

  • Investor access1

Exposure to NVIDIA's venture capital network through Inception Capital Connect and the Inception VC Alliance, plus curated networking events.

Why it matters: Can widen a startup's investor reach.

Limits: Based on eligibility; NVIDIA uses funding status to decide who fits VC introductions.

  • Brand and market reach1

Official Inception badge, co-branded social content, event assets and go-to-market opportunities that grow with engagement.

Why it matters: Adds visibility with customers and partners.

Limits: Larger opportunities depend on the depth of engagement with NVIDIA.

  • Member portal1

A portal for personalized recommendations, requesting benefits, managing users and keeping company details current.

Why it matters: One place to access every benefit.

Limits: Benefits require keeping product and company details up to date.

Getting started

  1. Confirm incorporation

The company must be officially incorporated; the application asks for the incorporation date.

Check: You have the incorporation date and documents.

  2. Confirm age and team

The company must be less than 10 years old and employ at least one developer.

Check: Founding date is within 10 years and a developer is on staff.
