Gaming, Graphics & Creative AI

Consumer and creator technology on GeForce RTX: DLSS neural rendering, RTX Remix for remastering classic games, NVIDIA ACE for Games for AI characters, the Broadcast app and Studio Drivers.

Technology profiles for this category are in research.

Overview

This category is for players, modders, game developers and individual creators using GeForce RTX hardware. The focus is AI that runs on the PC itself rather than in a data center.

DLSS is a set of neural rendering features. Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction and DLAA work on GeForce RTX 20 Series and newer, Frame Generation needs RTX 40 or 50 Series, and Multi Frame Generation needs RTX 50 Series. RTX Remix lets modders capture assets from older games, rebuild materials with generative AI and add path tracing; its runtime is open source on GitHub. NVIDIA ACE for Games offers speech, dialogue and facial animation models for game characters, and its Game Agent SDK is in beta. For creators, the Broadcast app adds AI noise removal and virtual backgrounds, and Studio Drivers target creative applications.

Older GPUs and other vendors' hardware still run most games and creative tools. These features are optional, and each needs a game or app that supports it.1234

Problems it addresses

  • Frame rate versus image quality1

DLSS Super Resolution renders at a lower resolution and uses AI to output a sharper, higher-resolution image.

  • Noisy ray-traced scenes1

DLSS Ray Reconstruction replaces hand-tuned denoisers with an AI network.

  • Classic games that look dated2

RTX Remix captures game assets so modders can remaster them with path tracing and new materials.

  • Scripted, repetitive characters3

ACE for Games provides speech, language and animation models for characters that converse and act.

  • Home streaming quality4

The Broadcast app adds AI noise removal, virtual lighting and virtual backgrounds.

A typical workflow

  1. Capture a scene2

Capture assets from a classic game with the RTX Remix runtime.

  2. Improve materials2

Use the AI texture tools to create normal and roughness maps and upscale textures.

  3. Relight with path tracing2

Replace the original lighting with path-traced lighting and particles.

  4. Add game-aware effects2

Use Remix Logic so graphics respond to events in the game.

Next steps

  1. Check your GPU series against the DLSS feature list before turning on Frame Generation.

  2. Install RTX Remix through the NVIDIA app and open one of the showcased projects first.

  3. Game developers: list which ACE for Games components you need and note which are beta or release candidates.
