Investing expert Cathie Wood recently appeared on the Diary of a CEO podcast and spoke about some of the developments she’s most excited about. One area she spoke about at length was the potential for AI and robotics, with the technology likely to assist people massively in the future.

Throughout the internet age, developers have been striving for greater personalization in almost every industry, and AI could be the next step towards that. In the future, the technology may even have the power to know what we want before we do.

    How Does Predictive AI Work?

AI functions so well because it’s able to analyze a vast amount of past information and then use this to anticipate future actions. As predictive AI gets more advanced, it will be able to aggregate almost infinite amounts of data to make predictions about the future. The information it uses includes things like clicks, watch time, and even things like mouse hovering time. Imagine that – AI will be able to judge how interested you are in something by how long you linger over it for.

All this data is compared and analyzed alongside the data from millions of other people, meaning that it can make strong assumptions about what most people want. The amazing thing is that it’s constantly learning and improving, meaning that it will one day reach a stage at which it can make perfectly accurate predictions.

AI Could Have a Huge Impact in Retail

One area that Wood was particularly excited about was the possibility of AI shopping assistants. She believes that digital retail is one of the most fertile industries for the new technology, with ecommerce platforms already using a vast amount of data analysis tools to help make recommendations for people.

What we’ve already seen on Amazon and other sites is just the tip of the iceberg, though. In the future, AI assistants may be able to anticipate what people need and restock without them even having to think about it. Humanoid robots could even go about this business in the physical world, going out and going shopping for their owners without being given any prior instructions.

Likely to Have a Huge Impact in Entertainment

One common feature of the entertainment industry today is the fact that we are completely spoiled for choice, with sprawling platforms featuring thousands of options. Netflix, for instance, has more than 13,000 titles for users to choose from. Online casinos have a similar array of content, with slots now separated into different categories to help players sift through them all. Megaways casino games like BarnYard Megaways and Mustang Gold Megaways can be found in their own section, while there are other categories for Vegas Classic and King Millions.

If predictive AI starts to have more of an impact on the entertainment industry, it may help users zone in on what they want straight away. Instead of having to look through movies or games, it may be able to instantly predict what someone wants and open that option automatically.

With AI development happening at lightning pace, the sky is the limit for the technology. There’s a strong chance that it will be able to predict what we want in the future and perform actions without our having to think about them.
