Kauffman offer Business strategy, Innovation tactics in Six Animated Episodes

It is now commonly accepted, that the fastest way to become a billionaire is to be young, inventing new technology and tap into capital venture funding. We have seen Twitter and Facebook evolve to eventually float on the stock exchange. There are so many prime examples to learn and gain inspiration from, it seems very little can go wrong. The reality is however, if you take 10 startups, four of them are definitely going to fail. Another three or four will return the original funding and you’re left with one or two that actually produce meaningful returns.

Perhaps the real reason there is a high failure rate, is that start-up founders will often find it challenging to develop an idea from scratch and new tune it to valid business model which is essential to get the business off the ground, let alone thrive. Being accepted into an incubator program does not guarantee success. Recognizing this fact the Kauffman foundation in collaboration with Strategyzer, unveiled the “From Idea to Business” video series that teaches entrepreneurs how to design and test business models that help their ideas have a better chance of succeeding.

Part one of the video drives home a critical point, great business ideas need great business models and even then you need to differentiate yourself from the competition. Potential customers will have to be passionate and care about the problem that your offering solves, and the business will still have to be both sustainable and scalable with a rock solid infrastructure.
