FRAMELESS London introduces Sol Bound I, a new immersive residency presented by ArtDott and created by Oslo-based digital artist Reuko. Opening on 27 February 2026, the experience explores how advanced visual technologies and sound design can transform the way people perceive nature, offering insight into how digital innovation increasingly influences wellbeing, culture, and the experience economy.

As urban lifestyles become increasingly digital and fast-paced, researchers and cultural institutions have highlighted a decline in “nature connectedness” — the psychological bond between people and the natural world. Projects like Sol Bound I demonstrate how immersive technology can help address this gap by creating environments designed not just for visual impact, but for emotional and sensory engagement.

Hosted in FRAMELESS’ Blank Canvas Gallery, the residency combines large-scale projections, layered animation, and spatial audio to create an environment where visitors move through forests, rivers, coastlines, and expansive landscapes. The objective is clear: to reposition technology as a facilitator of reflection and reconnection rather than distraction.

The creative and technological architecture behind ‘Sol Bound I’

The project is built on a hybrid creative process that combines real-world capture with digital enhancement. Reuko filmed natural environments through challenging expeditions using drones and cinematic equipment. These authentic visuals were then layered with particle simulations and digital lighting effects to create a visual language representing unseen energies flowing through natural systems.

Rather than following a linear narrative, the experience unfolds as a continuous cycle reflecting the rhythms of ecosystems and seasonal change. Subtle traces of human presence appear throughout, reinforcing the idea that humans are participants within environmental systems rather than external observers.

From a strategic perspective, the residency showcases how immersive storytelling is evolving from entertainment-driven experiences into deeper, concept-led environments shaped by data-driven design, digital tools, and emotional storytelling.

Sound design as a technology layer

Composer Alex Mills developed an original score that integrates synth textures, orchestral strings, piano motifs, and field recordings including water and wind. The audio environment shifts dynamically alongside the visuals, helping create a unified multisensory experience.

This blending of sound engineering and visual technology reflects a growing trend in immersive innovation: using multi-layered sensory design to influence mood, perception, and engagement — a concept increasingly relevant across sectors from experiential marketing to digital wellness platforms.

The experience economy and the future of immersive art

Sol Bound I also highlights a wider evolution in the cultural sector:

    • Immersive experiences as growth drivers: Cultural venues are investing in digital-first installations to attract new audiences.
    • Technology serving emotional engagement: Innovation is moving toward human-centred, reflective experiences rather than purely technical showcases.
    • Digital art as a scalable platform: Artist-led ecosystems such as ArtDott are enabling creators to experiment with large-scale immersive environments.
    • Wellbeing and creativity convergence: Experiences that promote calm, focus, and sensory awareness are becoming commercially and culturally significant.

These trends align with broader shifts across technology, where companies and institutions increasingly prioritise experiences that combine innovation with psychological impact.

    ABOUT REUKO

Reuko is a Norway-based new media artist who is driven to explore the vital forces of wind, water, light, and energy that connect all life – stirring currents that are always shifting and alive. His unique blend of landscape cinematography and 3D particle sculptures have immersed millions of viewers on social media in his series titled “Sol Bound.” His creative process is grounded in visceral experience as he travels around the world to film breathtaking landscapes via camper vans, a range of hiking equipment, and aerial photography gear. Constantly expanding his creative language, he then blends drone cinematography with complex particle simulations, photogrammetry, sound design, and compositing to bring these two worlds together into plain sight.

The future of his work is focused on bringing these narratives into physical art installations and immersive experiences, taking guests on a journey to bring the soul closer to our natural world. More recently, his works have been showcased at Theatre of Digital Art in Dubai, New York Times Square, Tokyo, and his first solo show and upcoming artist residency at the acclaimed Frameless Immersive Experience venue in London launching in February 2026.

    ABOUT ALEX MILLS

Alex Mills is a Welsh composer based in London whose work moves fluidly between opera, choral, orchestral, chamber, electronic, and film music. He is deeply interested in how music can express emotion and memory, and often draws inspiration from psychology, spiritual practices, and ritual, using sound to build immersive ‘inner landscapes’ that feel at once intimate and cinematic. Collaborations with visual artists are a central part of his practice, and his work has been presented at the V&A, the National Gallery, and Frieze New York, as well as at renowned musical venues including Kings Place, the Barbican, and Wigmore Hall.

The Guardian has described his work as “music of supernatural poignancy, melodic but otherworldly, narratively urgent but poetically impressionistic.”

    ABOUT ARTDOTT

Artdott is an art-tech company where artists and brands collaborate to create meaningful, immersive experiences at the intersection of art, commerce, and contemporary life. In a world shaped by speed, algorithms, and constant visibility, we believe the most powerful experiences are those that resonate—not just momentarily, but emotionally. At Artdott, art is not an accessory to branding; it is a strategic language that shapes narrative, builds cultural relevance, and creates lasting connection.
